Heidi

January 2006:
Hope everyone is ready do make the same
mistakes they made last year all over again.
Ok. That's a bleak and pessimistic attitude, and,
actually, I hope that this year I will finally get rid
of all the crap and be happy. I hope you do too.
I am generally in a shitty and confused mood these
days. I have made a lot of mistakes over the past year
and I want to aplogize to everyone I hurt or fucked
with or disappointed. I didn't mean to. But I guess I
did anyway. I hope someday I can make up for it, or
take it back, or apologize in a way that makes a
difference.... But I can't hang on to bad things or
they'll destroy me, so I have to move on as well and
try to have a better outlook. I hope you do too.
Sorry to get so personal.... let's move on to some
horror stuff that's happening....
- I am producing the new Chris Seaver film Karaoke
Kid. If you remember some of the other Low Budget
Pictures films, like Mulva, Zombie Ass-Kicker and
Filthy McNasty, you'll see that Karaoke Kid is
slightly less raunchy but the best thing Chris Seaver
has ever written. Go to www.lowbudgetpictures.com and
show some support on their message boards. Spread the
Word.
- Horror director and veteran photographer Leslie
Delano of www.delanophoto.net
has come on board the
idea of a 2007 Women in Horror calendar produced by
pretty/scary www.pretty-scary.net
more on that as it
develops.
- Got that Bloodrayne review on Fangoria, you can read
it here:
http://www.fangoria.com/ghastly_review.php?id=5357
thanks Tony.
- Have you guys checked out Hecate's Haunt? This
Horror Channel site promotes women in horror in a
really good way, and I want to shout out to Debi
Moore and Kyra Schon for making it possible. Go show
them some love at:
http://www.horrorchannel.com/index.php?name=Sections&req=viewarticle&artid=237&page=1
- Got some freelance articles at Hustler Magazine (no,
not the porn kind...) and should be hearing back from
them about an editor position this week. Who here
reads Hustler? I dont, but I guess I should start. I
guess I just don't really understand why it looks like
every girl is masturbating with a glass dildo in every
picture. Doesn't that seem dangerous?
- Jay Hernandez is Mr. January at www.pretty-scary.net
. Jay plays the lead in Eli Roth's Hostel....
- I really want to plug my friend Spooky Dan's review
of Hostel. He's a great writer and an awesome horror
buff. Go be supportive of his first review for
Slasherama.

ERIC SPUDIC::
Ever wonder what's up with that hottie indie actor
Eric Spudic? www.ericspudic.com?
Wonder not...
Hey you fartknockers, happy Christmas and Merry New
Year! Here I am 26 years old, slowly withering away,
and now comfortably settled in Van Nuys, California.
OK, maybe not too comfortably, but nonetheless happy
as hell. The website, www.ericspudic.com is getting
close to the big 40,000 hit mark. I’m very satisfied
with the numbers. My
goal is to have 55,000 by 2007.
When not being addicted to Myspace, IMDB, Friendster,
Ebay, or hiking across half of L.A., I managed to find
time to work on another 8 or 9 features throughout the
year. I started off with a return appearance in
PSYCHO SANTA 2, the indie sequel to the equally indie
PSYCHO SANTA, lensed in Mississippi. Dem dere gators
were hungry!
There were also 3 screenings held this year. In
February, I did the PSYCHO SANTA/KILLERS BY NATURE
double feature at Cinespace. Unfortunately I booked
it on Valentine’s Day weekend! So I quickly followed
with a vengeance…the CREEPIES/MINDS OF TERROR
screening was done at the Studio Stage. Celebs Ron
Jeremy and
Michael Beardsley showed up!!!
Then I took a break from the screenings/minglings and
did back-to-back parts in SLUDGE, ALIEN HOLOCAUST,
DRILLER, and DEAD MEN WALKING. The latter hit dvd on
Oct. 25th(I’m a zombie during the opening), which
coincidentally was the release date of KILLERS BY
NATURE! I wore multiple hats on that show, directing,
writing, and acting in it. The dvd contains a
commentary from me, as well as a stills gallery,
trailers, and a
drinking game(you’re guaranteed to get trashed!). The
KBN trailer was voiced over by Jerry Lentz of
www.jerrylentz.com fame!
Speaking of dvd releases, my favorite film that I
wrote, CREEPIES, hit dvd in August from Maverick
Entertainment. It’s in Hollywood
Video, Blockbuster, 20/20 Video, everywhere. Turned
out pretty funny I think and obviously very gory. The
movie sold so well that a sequel, with about quadruple
the budget, was put into production immediately.
November saw the releases of two Fred Olen Ray flicks
I acted in – THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE BEAUTIFUL and
BIKINI CHAIN GANG. The former plays on cable under
the title, BIKINI ROUNDUP. I recently teamed with
Fred to play a goofy camp
counselor in THE LEGEND OF WILLIAM TELL with Cindy
Williams and Ed Begley, Jr..
Meanwhile, since I’m addicted to farting…I mean
screenwriting, I managed to crank out my baby –
TEENAGE VIGILANTE, weighing in at a healthy 95 pages.
I wrote this as a starring vehicle for myself to take
me to the next level of the ballgame. This script has
gotten rave reviews; it’s a vicious throwback to
pictures like LONE WOLF McQUADE, DEATH WISH 3, and
AVENGING FORCE.
I hired a kid named Jim Reilly to do artwork for this
one and MASSACRE MANSION to help get them produced.
More details soon…
In August I did another screening for MANIACAL and THE
BRINK at the Studio Stage. I love these guys! Lots
of seats, a big
screening room, and an awesome price. Check them out:
www.studio-stage.com
I also found out that a movie I wrote called BUTCHERED
plays on cable tv in Mexico. There have been lots of
Spudic flicks popping up on Ebay, amazon.com, and
Netflix. Everything from AQUANOIDS to BLOODY TEASE.
Hell, if you live in Belgium, you can purchase PSYCHO
SANTA and watch it with your Aunt Ethel. DEAD CLOWNS
is in the UK, but still no US release date. SAVAGE
HARVEST 2 is almost done in post. I’m planning on
booking a huge theatre for another double-feature in
February. The celebrity invite list is going to be
massive!
As I reflect back on a terrific year, my favorite day
was back in February when I was attended the 2005 DVD
Premiere Awards. It was a bargain even at a whopping
$250 per ticket. I got to hang out with people like
Natasha Henstridge, Mark Hamill, Hillary Duff, Bob
Newhart, Jennifer Tilly, and more. I can’t wait to go
again!
I’m actually thinking about submitting for some
agencies and find an agent to get me more work. Maybe
some commercials or tv shows. Maybe some porn. OK,
maybe not. Unfortunately we live in a world based on
looks, so I also have multiple goals on changing my
image(hey, gotta do something to impress the
ladies…er, casting directors). Back to the weights!
I’m very much looking forward to 2006 and I hope you
are, too.
Rock and Roll!

Cinema Nocturna Update::
Well, first off we would all like to wish you all the
best for this new year of
2006! Hope all the festivities went well! Here we are
with our first update for
this new year, though it's a bit of leftovers from
Part 2 of our X-Mas Edition.
Before we get into that I would like to showcase a
well written review/overlook
for the new Encore DVD of Rollin's REQUIEM OF A
VAMPIRE provided by Sean. Yet
again this is another Rollin set I must feast upon
soon!
Now onto some of the leftovers from X-Mas! Here's a
look at the Italian
action/drama filmed in Montreal, STATELINE MOTEL and
it's UK DVD release from
Blackhorse. Also, the long awaited exclusive interview
with indie director David
Noel Burke (LAST EXIT). If you haven't already seen
his film, do yourself a
favor and get it! Lastly, we also have a review for
the Synapse DVD release for
42nd STREET FOREVER from our man Nick who seems to be
settling in quite nicely!
Welcome once again! I would also like to point out
that we have made some minor changes to our
forum. We have made some new additions while we said
goodbye to some old hats in
the process. It seems the forum is quite slow, so to
try and spark interest up
we are asking you the members for some ideas that you
might like to see. There
will also be a major DVD contest announcement in the
coming days for our members
as well! So stay tuned!
