For it's time, Driller Killer may have been shocking, controversial, and a cult hit, but seeing it now, I couldn't say it's anything special. Of course, this is only my opinion, but I was greatly disappointed in every aspect of this boring film.

Director Ferrara stars as an aspiring artist on the brink of insanity whose future depends on the success of his latest painting. He believes it is the one that will make him rich, and he pours his entire soul into completing it. However, things don't go as planned, and all last-standing signs of sanity vanquish as he starts to unleash his revenge on society with a drill and his portable power-tool battery belt.

As promising as this may sound to be a fun, violent film, it in fact moves at an amoebae's pace, shows hardly any gore, and is plagued with horrible acting, annoying music, bad lighting, and only two scenes that give it any value in watching. The first scene worth watching is a brief shower scene with the artist's 2 bi-sexual/lesbian roommates. The other is a nice head-drilling scene; the only death scene that really shows anything.

I had to force myself to watch more than 10 minutes of Driller Killer. I strongly advice against the viewing of this film.

Overall rating is 1 skull out of a possible 5.
